Santa Fun Runners in full flight round Haworth Park

The sun emerged from behind the rain clouds on Sunday and gave the club’s third Santa Fun Run an amazing day out in Haworth Central Park. More than 60 runners hit the park’s paths and the first to complete the ten-lap, five-kilometre course was Earby Charlotte Corrigan in a very creditable 22 minutes.

The event was started by Worth Valley Councillor and Friend of the Rotary Club Rebecca Poulsen and members of Haworth Bowling Club provided facilities in their headquarters as well as a feast of tea, cake and sausage rolls!

Besides the Bowling Club the club’s marshalling was boosted by a party of Police Cadets brokered by another Worth Valley Councillor Chris Herd and we had coverages from St John’s Ambulance Brigade.

President Oddy said: “A splendid day and a great effort by all concerned. The Club is very grateful for all the help tghey received and to the runners for turning out in such great numbers.”
