Waxing lyrical for Ukraine

The Rotary Club of Haworth & Worth Valley, together with their neighbours the Rotary Club of Keighley, have launched a joint initiative to provide winter heat for the people in war-torn Ukraine.

The campaign is called ‘Candles4Ukraine’ and is based on an appeal for people to donate candle wax for export to the Ukraine.

Three collection points have already been established, two in Keighley – Micro Media (09.00hrs until 17.00hrs) on Cavendish Street and St Andrew’s Church, North Street (10.00hrs – 16.00hrs) and one in Haworth at St Michael and All Angel’s Church, Church Street (10.00hrs until 16.00hrs).

What the two clubs are seeking is for people to collect the wax from candles once they have finished burning them and drop it into the collection boxes. After each box is filled the Rotarians will collect the wax and arrange for its delivery to Ukraine. Our video shows you just how the Ukrainian people use the candle wax!.
